We are extremely grateful for the help of our donors and partners enabling us to teach African Diaspora music and culture to Greater Cleveland and beyond.
We are looking for individuals who care about and believe that access to education in music, dance, visual arts, and the African Diaspora culture make our communities stronger.
Your support change lives!
Pledges to the Amistad Caribbean Arts Camp are 100% Tax-deductible
All the donations are going through Open Tone Music, which is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, meaning that your donation is 100% tax-deductible.
Why Us?
We are a tuition-free summer arts program.
Since 2018, we have served 100+ students from Northeast Ohio and nationally.
ACAC connects students with acclaimed artists from Cleveland, Cuba, Brazil, and Puerto Rico.
Students learn more than 50 rhythms from the Caribbean, North, Central, and South Americas countries on bucket drums.
We provide music instruments and visual arts materials to all of our students.
Our staff consists of five arts administrators with more than 30 years of experience combined in the nonprofit sector.
In 2020 we went virtual teaching local Cleveland students, out-of-state students, and hosted virtual musical and dance performances accessible to anyone around the world.
Students have music, dance, and visual arts classes.
Through donations by Cultural Resources LLC, we offer history classes showcasing original videos, photographs, and essays from the Americas and the Caribbean.
All of our interns are students of Fine Arts from local universities in the Northeast Ohio region.
More than 75% of our students come from public schools in the greater Cleveland area.
Why You?
Your donation will go towards instrument rentals, laptops, faculty, masterclasses, high school and college internships, and preparation for performances.
Individuals who care about and believe that access to education in music, dance, visual arts, and the African Diaspora culture make our communities stronger.
Why Now?
It is critical that students in the U.S. have access to arts education as well as
the history of how African culture helped shape today’s societies in the Caribbean and Americas.
